I got out pre-surge unfortunately. I got in at $80 and sold at $150 because I was like "no way does it go any higher" and then it rocketed up to like double that like right after.

So I technically lost many pairs of theoretical shirts I could've bought.

Georgia is at least trending blue while NV has been trending red. But yeah, I definitely agree with your assessment of him being the most vulnerable for sure.

And yeah the house is a major concern if the democrats don't do good things that they can campaign on in these next two years. It is already hard enough in a midterm, and that gap is crazy narrow.

It would be a "fine" map if not for the fact it was a midterm election and the democrats hold the presidency. Historically that tends to suck. Although I thought the same thing about Georgia so I'll just keep reverse jinxing the democrats with my pessimism at this point!

Toomey is retiring and there is one more seat in a Biden won state with zero states up for democrats in states that Biden lost. I think the biggest concerns for dems are NH and NV. Particularly with how close NV was in 2020.

I feel like Manchin is going to be our Susan Collins. He'll bluster enough for us to panic everytime but then when it matters he'll vote with the party.

Still wish we won one more seat, but alas.

If he just resorts to making me constantly stress about this while still doing the right thing, then I'd be totally ok with it tbqh!

I'm basically hoping for a miracle in 2022 at this point so Manchin becomes the 51st democrat. I'd be much less stressed with a Tester or Sinema than a Manchin.

Well, that's not hand wringing. That's fist shaking.

He's not voting for that. I was afraid he was going to be a total flake and screw over the democrats on this one too, hence the hand wringing. I'm not worried about the filibuster because I have no hope for it at this point.

I'd be more hopeful he's onboard for DC statehood. Dunno how likely that is but he at least hasn't categorically ruled it out.

A reboot? That's super interesting actually. I'm completely blind to things and have somehow managed to avoid information on anything, so that's good to know.

I checked the cover of V3 last night, and I want to say like 2/3 of the cast looks absolutely insane compared to the fairly normal casts of these two games, Mechamaru excluded. So I'm definitely interested in where it might go.

Are there any hopes for more Danganronpa material coming up at any point? I dunno if this is now a dormant series or if there might be more games coming out at some time in the future.

I don't think anybody here has ever actually done a playthrough topic for UDG, unless I'm mistaken.

I could try for these! I feel like these main line games are perfect for reaction topics since you're with a cast of rapidly dwindling characters and you're trying to figure out who dies when. I dunno if these two would translate as well, but I could try at the very least and see if there is any interest to following along in some of the "lesser" danganronpa universe stories.

Oh right, this moment from right before they enter the trial in 2-4 has some layers in it when viewed in retrospect.

On one hand you weren't wrong in that it could apply to Hajime (though not as the 2-4 culprit of course lol) in the sense that he is actually Izuru and loaded the Junko AI into the program but given the situation it's more likely this is Nagito cryptically hinting at the fact that he just learned that he himself actually became Ultimate Despair and didn't know until he got the files in the Final Dead Room and he's talking about himself (and the others) and the closest he comes to sharing the truth to anyone else.

Oh hey that's another thing I completely forgot about. Very interesting. Yeah, that does definitely read like he's trying to tell you "we were the bad guys all along". This is the sort of thing I'm talking about, where maybe I'd get even more out of the story on a second playthrough, just so I could see where all the clues were that I missed or misinterpreted.

I think it was mostly a misdirect, but my pet theory is that since AI Junko/Monokuma knows that Makoto and co. were watching the whole time it was actually meant more to torment them by flaunting the fact that she could recreate the events they went through while they were entirely helpless to do anything about it and could only watch.

I kinda like that idea, I think. Of course, they could just be winking at fans of the first game, but at the same time Nagito specifically points this out so either it was meant to be a misdirect or there is something to a theory like yours.

And I appreciate everyone warning me about 3 and UDG. I think I'm going to take my medicine though, knowing there will be ice cream after. So I'll at least try to do these before getting into V3. Maybe I'll just quit if things get too bad.

And yeah the whole cast being the Remnants of Despair and the actual bad guys of the game was such a great twist and blew me away.

What was super interesting about this twist, to me at least, was that I had started to piece it together but just couldn't imagine the scope. I had figured some of the cast here (especially Hajime and Fuyuhiko) were secret bad guys but they do a really good job at not tipping that it is actually everyone, imo. There are a handful here I was genuinely surprised by. Like...even AKANE? She's an idiot. You can't brainwash her, she's too dumb!

It is always fun where they give you enough so you think you figured out the twist, but that's really just hiding a bigger twist waiting to come out and knock you upside the head. I dunno, maybe more people figured out it was the entire cast and I was just in denial, but for me I was trying to figure out who it was like this was some big game of mafia and the TOWN was in danger.

I feel like you just weren't paying enough attention in the first game if you're questioning this, because this is EXTREMELY in-character for both Kyoko and Byakuya.

And yes, given that Kyoko still managed to be an upper tier character for DR1 really sells the fact that DR2's cast is waaaaaaaaaay fucking better than 1's.

This might be true, to the extent that it has been a little while since I played the first game. I'm watching a playthrough now, and sort of surprised at some of the stuff I don't remember. There are a couple of characters I really, really enjoyed but there's also a huge chunk of the cast that is just a big heaping pile of nothing.

Yeah in the beginning of the game when it was all glitchy and stuff I remember thinking that they were in a simulation. And that the original characters were playing avatars in the new game (like Akane was pretty similar to Hina in a lot of ways and Nagito and Makoto both being lucky students) but not everything fit. And then I just sort of...forgot about it. So when the last case came up I was like "oh duh I was right in the beginning but forgot...geez."

And yeah the whole cast being the Remnants of Despair and the actual bad guys of the game was such a great twist and blew me away.

I was actually playing with the same thing actually! I thought there could be some sort of simulation thing going on because:

1) The cases paralleled each other so nicely. I got completely lost in that theory for a while.
2) I was seeing parallels for the characters too. You can see me rambling a bit about it at some points trying to get things to fit, but I also quit because I couldn't see a clear 1:1 in some places and I thought it was a stretch.

...wait did the parallels end up meaning anything? Or was that just a misdirect? There is a lot in cases 1-3 specifically that mirrors the first game a lot, and you can kind of extend that to the fourth case as well if you squint a bit.

And while it explains the completely outlandish stuff Monokuma pulls throughout the game it's weird because like... 2-3's Despair Disease stuff doesn't really retroactively become more fun because of it.

AI Junko's goals also explain a lot of your earlier complaints about how Monokuma was being a total asshole with his motives and "court rulings" with basically targetted motives in 2-2 and 2-3, all but forcing a murder in 2-4 by necessity, and ruling that 2-5 wasn't a suicide because unlike DR1 where Junko was "just" trying to drive the students to kill each other to prove a point, here AI Junko had the additional incentive of wanting them dead so was much more willing to bend the rules and be less neutral than in DR1.

So i those respects it was both very fun to watch your complaints knowing that the game actually had a reason for it all along and it would be addressed, but also somewhat frustrating because it's not like we could tell you that and it certainly doesn't change the fact that at the time 2-2 and 2-3 are just not all that great. The payoff is there sure but other than vaguely encouraging you that things would get better there wasn't much more that could be done to address your issues directly.

I agree with this 100%.

It makes the rest of the game so much better in retrospect...but it doesn't make the fact I was actually slightly miserable playing through 2-3 because of how dumb the despair disease was any easier to swallow.

And yep I'm going for that sweet platinum trophy so I'll be trying to get through all the free play stuff tonight if I can. I'm still missing a couple scenes that are just ??? from the list so there might be some chapters I need to replay as well?

Hajime cant seem to remember how he got here or why Nagito is standing over him. Think-think-think-think-think-think-think. Too many thinks. Not enough remembers. This isnt gonna work, dude.
Uh oh I thought too hard and entered the matrix.
Is Hajime a robot? Why did he say think seven times, a bunch of what looked like computer code flashed on the screen, and then a flashback sequence initiated at the front of Hopes Peak?

Literally some of my first thoughts of the game, looking back. I had forgotten about this. They literally slap me in the face and I just didn't notice, huh?

Part of it is actually super clever, because they baked in people thinking "well the first game isn't necessarily super realistic so maybe this is just the game being weird". Like there were many times something weird would happen (that cow into a chicken example) and I'd just go "oh Danganronpa, you so crazy". But they were all hints! That's so absurdly clever and literally the whole first game was a set up for it. Not that they had this planned from the start, mind you, but it was so easy to hide this twist when they had the weirdness from the first game already baked into your expectations.

That ending twist is brilliant and I hate myself for not seeing it. Something I kind of wished we saw (although maybe I'll get more in the missing free time segments) is what drove these characters to despair. I had sort of blinded myself because you can really see it for some characters. Mikan has a great meltdown about how no one likes her and how she is always dealing with everyone being rude to her when she's in despair mode. And you can see what already happened to Fuyuhiko with his little sister (and then you assume Peko comes along for the ride). Mahiru was swept up in that too and her friend died as a result, so go ahead and toss her in the pile as well. But then you have characters like Sonia and Akane and it just doesn't make as much sense. I'm fine with them being vague though and it wasn't something I needed. Just thought it would've been cool to see what drove them to Junko in the end.

Something I really love is how that twist completely invalidates all of my earlier whining about the motives sucking. The motives suck because this isn't the same game as the first game, stupid past Suprak. What an idiot that guy was, huh? The first game was about causing despair by showing anyone can be driven to murder. The second game is instead more along the lines of showing these characters cannot escape their past. So the first motive is the promise of getting their memories back, literally tying them to their past. The second motive is a specific event from their past, and Fuyuhiko winds up reacting in almost exactly the same way a second time showing he is very much not changed in any way. And then the third case is literally giving a character her memory back. I guess, looking back as a whole, it is actually the fourth case where the motive doesn't fit. Starving everyone to death is pretty standard, all things considered and has nothing to do with their past selves.

This was a crazy great way to end the game. I guess my only complaint on chapter 6 is it didn't feel as fulfilling from a gameplay perspective as 4/5. Most of the clues were literally just given to me in books or told to me through expository dialogue. I don't know how else they'd do it, so it isn't a real big complaint or anything, but if I was looking for a nit to pick it'd be that.

But the ending three cases really pushes this into all time visual novel/light adventure game territory for me. Like all time greatness. The overall story was so cleverly and carefully put together. I think I'm going to want to go back and play this again in a year just to see all the stuff I missed in those earlier cases that makes more sense now.

Just off the top of my head though, the motives, Nagito's actions in case 5, all the weird magic power stuff I was complaining about, all of this makes more sense within the context of the story as a whole. I specifically remember in the first game when I go to the big twist and I was like "this is dumb. two years have passed and literally no one noticed they're older? bigger? they're in high school. There is no way no one grew in this time." And then this game uses that specific thing as a clue to prove they are in the Neo World Program. How fucking cool is that?

I think I'll stop my ramblings there for now, but I'm sure I'll have more thoughts as I do the post game stuff. Thanks for reading everyone! In the end, the remnants of despair was all the friends I made along the way.

I thought it was a good idea to wait until the end of the game to tell you that you were right about Hiyoko. From what I've read, they initially planned for Fuyuhiko to die in 2-3, but realized that that would make Peko's sacrifice in 2-2 pointless, so they replaced him with Hiyoko, which is why her death is so sudden and pointless (you never even figure out what weapon Mikan used to kill her, and her relentless bullying of Mikan has zero effect on the case), and why it seemed like she was in the middle of a character arc, and why basically everything would make more sense if she lived.

Really? Is that confirmed somewhere?

That makes so much more sense. Her death is a complete afterthought and it feels weird in context of the rest of the case. I had though (and this is probably dumb) that looking at who survived it was supposed to be Hiyoko and not Kazuichi at some point You saw the beginning of this forgiveness and understanding between the two of them, even though Hiyoko loved Mahiru and blamed Fuyuhiko at the start, and really that sort of character arc makes so much more sense at the end of the game with everyone else instead of Kazuichi, who adds nothing.

Like I said, his "turn" at the end is comical in comparison to everyone else. They all have these grand speeches (even Akane) and he's just like "well I guess I'm coming along too!" Especially considering how much of an ass Hiyoko was to everyone, it would've been nice to see her come around full circle by the end.

CLOSING ARGUMENTS
Just imagine the song is playing here I'm too busy to link it.

First off, I love this game. I'm going to go into the stuff I didn't love as much first, but before I do that just know that yes, I fully agree this blows the first game out of the water by every metric imaginable. Never has a late game twist so changed my opinion of large swaths of the earlier segments of the game. What a brilliantly constructed plot, overall.

Ok, first. Loved the story. One minor quibble at the end there: Makoto's plan straight up sucked and I can't believe Byakuya and Kyoko went along with it. WHAT THE ABSOLUTE HELL? You have a group of evil monsters, corrupted to the point of grotesqueness AND they murdered like half the planet maybe AND you know they were Junko's most loyal followers AND the biggest baddest saddest meanest event ever is still going on because of these people. And you try to rehabilitate them?

There's being soft-hearted and then there is trying to rehabilitate the guy who blew up a puppy orphanage and ate the remnants because you think there is hope in everyone. I get that Junko corrupted these people and that normally they wouldn't have turned into monsters. But after you kill a certain number of people, the world tends to stop caring about that whole "they had a tough childhood" backstory, guys. I'll give the logic of "a super computer capable of erasing memories and replanting new ones" a pass because I see the logic there and don't really care about the specifics of it. I do not give Makoto's plan of "hey maybe there's still hope for this group of people that caused the death of half the planet" a pass. Like, theoretically you could say that maybe it helps stop the calamity by everyone seeing these people being reformed into their past self, but I can guarantee all of the parents of dead kids out there aren't going to be going "aw shucks lets give them another shot at this life thing!" That's the sort of logical inconsistency I don't like, because even with the fun craziness of the DR universe, that sort of thing just doesn't make any sense to me.

(It doesn't break the story or anything like that and I still love the plot of this game because holy shit, but that was one thing I just can't wrap my head around)

In fact..uh, the three guys that came back from DR1 straight up suck here? Is that just me. They're rude as hell and being absolutely heartless to the fact we are facing this unimaginable truth. Fuck what you guys went through in the first game, this is pure distilled despair injected straight into our veins. And these three have the audacity to act confused or not understand why we don't want to go through with their plan? The fact we did is a miracle and you owe us for saving the world from your stupid plan that backfired through your enormous incompetence.

Future Foundation was right, Makoto. You're dangerous through your naivete and you almost ruined everything here. Also, my plan of shooting people IRL when they died in the game is a great one and you can't convince me otherwise. Imagine Junko trying to upload her personality in those bodies only to find they had all been shot in the head. GOTCHA, JERK! There seems to be no way to bring them back, and they all say as much. So why not just remove the risk of Junko escaping? Plus then at least these five get their good memories back and erase the dangerous despair pt 2 electric boogaloo they had become.

My final complaints are game related. This was a much better "game" than the first one, improving upon things in every way. But I still have some minor issues.

That "highlight what someone says and use it as an attack" mechanic is absolutely brilliant, but they completely wasted it. There should've been so many good ways to use that to find contradictions Phoenix Wright style, but it is really only relegated to a big role in the final case and a couple of other very minor examples. Man do I wish they did more with that. The consent mechanic was HUGE to improving the gameplay, but this could've been a legitimately fantastic game (and not just a story) if they had gotten that part of it right.

Ok so everyone agrees the mini-games suck, right? That isn't just me? i don't know if I was not understanding the instructions well or if they were just poorly told to me, but I figured out something I was doing wrong in both the Panic Talk Action and the one where you swipe the arguments away like three cases after they appeared. I had no clue you could cut diagonally to hit multiple sentences at once until I did it accidentally, and I had no idea you could swipe in the opposite direction to do more damage until someone in topic literally told me. That's sloppy game design.

ALSO was I the only one that kept tapping along at the button presses for like three cases too long in the rhythm game? I found out by accident you need to hold the button down on a beat, then release it on a later beat to get it to work. Maybe I didn't read closely enough, but I feel like the game needed to be more specific here.

I at least didn't totally hate those though. They were "fine" once I figured out what I was supposed to do. Hangman's Gambit is awful though and it will never be good. Please 3rd game don't have this. Either I know the world and I am literally just waiting for THE STUPID LETTERS TO APPEAR HURRY THE HELL UP I WANT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT or I don't know the word and I'm just sort of guessing. Like in the fourth case I had forgotten it was a called a deluxe room and instead thought it was a premium room (or something like that). That isn't something I can logic out. Now I'm just guessing at letters until it clicks. Not fun. DESPAIR.

Logic drive was really cool though. I'll give the game that one. And the end of case comic thing was "fine" if slightly uninteresting.

  • With Chiakis help I am able to face my self doubt. There is a cool segment where I continuously use Chiakis statement to break through all the negative thoughts Im having. Chiaki gives s one more believe in yourself fist bump and disappears again. ILL MISS YOU CHIAKI YOU WERE ALWAYS ONE OF MY FAVORITES
  • Ok guys we got some Junko ass to kick for Chiaki.
  • I snap out of it in time to see everyone in full on despair mode. Dang, Junko was going for the despair WR no hope% speedrun this time I guess.
  • Through another cool non-stop debate segment, Hajime manages to go Super Saiyan and break through the cycling conversation. Like hes radiating energy and his hair is bright yellow. It wasnt a metaphor here, he actually is going Super Saiyan I think.
  • Uh oh for the first time Junko looks scared. WERE COMING FOR YOU JUNKO.
  • Shes flailing through a Panic Talk Action and a different mini-game whos name I already forgot. She keeps calling me a bug but Hajime JUST WILL NOT BE STOPPED. Man why is the main cast this game so much better than the main cast last game?
  • AW YEAH WE GOT SONIA TO SNAP OUT OF IT. Shes just like ok so we press both of these buttons at once right while flipping Junko the finger.
  • Hajime pushing the fact we can make our own future from here on out is enough to awaken Sonia. Again, the world courts that are after you for mass murder might have a *different* opinion on what your future is but lets ignore that for now.
  • Sonia: When my body felt so heavy that I could not move, when I felt as though I was sinking into a deep, black seait was at that moment, I somehow heard Hajimes voiceAnd though it was just a flash, I saw it. Like a lighthouse beacon shining across an ocean of darkness, a warm, yet resolute, light. Come on guys Sonia is selling it pretty good right now. Come back to the good side.
  • Seriously how the hell is Kazuichi here? Sonia gives her big speech, and then Fuyuhiko talks about how he heard Peko again and cant let her down and then Akane says if theres someone worth fighting its not in her nature to back down. And then Kazuichi is like manthis is sure getting annoying again. Did the game accidentally kill off one of the characters that was supposed to be here and were stuck with Kazuichi instead?
  • Likewas Hiyoko seriously supposed to be here? That was a joke before but Im not sure now. Fuyuhiko loses Peko and Akane loses Nekomaru and Sonia loses Gundham and Hajime loses Chiaki and I feel like the Hiyoko/Mahiru pairing wouldve worked really well to round it out. We even see her grown up picture in the end which would make a bit more sense if Hiyoko was the one to see it. Kazuichi just seems so out of place. Ok nevermind that, back to the ending.
  • And that should do it for Junko, everyone. We get our end of trial ranking so all thats left is the Goodbye Junko song and dance.
  • Monomi shows up somehow to finally do something useful and banish giant Junko to the ranks of defeated video game bosses. She ties her up in a rainbow ribbon, presumably to give us a boob jiggle on the way out, and makes her explode with colors. How? SHUT UP thats how.
  • Cell phone Junko runs out of data and she gets goodbyeD too.
  • Byakuya: What was that just now? Why did Usami appear? She should have already disappeared. LOVE LOVE. Im glad Bykuya noticed this too though at least I wasnt alone.
  • Makoto, Byakuya, and Kyoko all get yeeted out of there and are like good luck hope future guys friendship hope magic. Hey guys just in case get your guns ready in case we wake up and try to kill some kids, ok?
  • Ok so the world here is ending and collapsing on us and no one will remember anything. This is the orgy time? Right guys? Time to orgy?
  • Everyone says their just in case goodbye and promises not to forget everyone. Aww Ill miss you guys too. You were my favorite group of murderous psychopaths I ever met.
  • And now were in the epilogue. Kyoko and Byakuya and Hajime are just leaving. You idiots. You unbelievable idiots where are you possibly going that is more important than making sure this group of mini-Hitlers wasnt lying about not being evil any more?
  • Byakuya is like uh should we really leave didnt they just turn back into Ultiamte Despair? Makoto: I dont thinkthats the case. I meanif they did turn back, they wouldnt have said that theyd stay on this island. Makoto you unbelievable IDIOT what are you talking about?
  • You dont think thats the case? Dont think? You need to be a million percent sure because these people cause genocide basically. What do you FUCKING mean you dont think?
  • Also your evidence was that they said theyd stay on the island? If they were Ultiamte Despair, do you think that maybe just maybe they were oh I dont know LYING to you? How are you possibly this dumb? This isnt evidence of anything. Run some diagnostic tests first man. Stay for like a week or so and check things out.
  • Byakuya; It seems that there are too many soft-hearted people here Byakuya this is why you were always my favorite.
  • Apparently the biggest most awful most saddest most not good thing ever EVER is still going on some so they need to go back and finish that off. Probably would go a bit faster if you didnt keep taking a month to rehabilitate five people.
  • Hey we get a Toko shout out as Kyoko teases Byakuya that someone is waiting for him. So you guys just forgave the serial killer? Didnt think of turning her into the authorities?
  • Oh hey Hajime gave himself a haircut! No wonder Makoto thought he got de-despaired.
  • Man I was kind of wishing we saw what the other four looked like in their despair husks. Ah well.
  • THE END MAN OH MAN WHAT A GAME!
  • Hey what the hell why are these all the Japanese voice actors? I wanted to know who the US voice actors were. LAME.
  • Well I unlocked a whole bunch of stuff. I think I'll look through here, finish off the platinum trophy while posting thoughts along the way, and then do a final character/case ranking! So I guess I'm not quite done yet!
  • CLOSING ARGUMENTS INCOMING

  • I dont know if the same voice actress does all of Junkos voices, but if she does she deserves a raise.
  • The schools grand plan was to experiment on the reserve course students, hoping to turn one of them into the Ultimate Hope using all their research. Dang, who knew creating a Frankensteins Monster would blow up in their faces like that? If only there was some book that couldve warned them that a Frankensteins Monster was dangerous.
  • They rewired his brain through various surgical procedures to make him the Ultimate Talent good at all things guy. Cool. Cool cool cool. I was right back in the first game when I posited this school was actively trying to murder its students. Once it got tired of recruited gang leaders and serial killers, they decided to just cut out the middle man and start cutting into their brains themselves.
  • Imagine your kid coming home for winter break with a huge scar on top of their head and a different personality. Thats got to be a lawsuit of some sort.
  • So shutting down the system here will literally wipe Hajime from existence since he cant go back. Probably shouldve done a bit more research here Makoto before you tried to de-brainwash these guys. Thats on you guys, man.
  • HAHAHAHA they show Hajime in the flashback now and he looks almost exactly the same but with an enormous wig. Its like hes wearing Ogres hair from the first game on his normal body and with red contact lenses. The mad scientists altered his brain AND gave him a hair transplant apparently.
  • Welp the despair just got Hajime folks. Game over man, GAME OVER.
  • And Hajime was the mastermind who tried to bring Junko back in the first place. Again, way to go Makoto. Probably shouldve had someone watching the dangerous psychopaths around all the computers you had set up for this.
  • BUT if Hajime chooses to graduate he will be able to overwrite his brain and get the happy ending he deserves. Dang guys uh Junko is making a good point here. Cant you just go around shooting all the brain dead people so I can get my brain back in my body?
  • Ugh Junko is such a good villain I wish she got more screen time than the final case in both games.
  • Can you guys even endure that? Everything that happened here will just end up being a meaningless game. Everything you feltawe, friendship, lovethere wont even be save data left of it. The girl you love and the guy you hate grow weaker and skinnier each day they lay immobilized. And in Hajimes case, his very existence is going to disappearall because of the academy he loves so much. Will you be able to endure such despair? Who are you going to endure it for? For people youve never met before? For people who dont even appreciate you? Does that sound like hope to you? Junko coming HARD with the closing arguments here guys.
  • We now have to choose between graduate or shutdown and I have to tell you Future Foundation guys that the early exit polls do not look promising.
  • Everyone has these good reasons for being hesitant. We wont remember the sacrifices our friends made. Sonia. I just want to see Peko one more time, no matter what. Fuyuhiko. ZOINKS THE FUTURE FOUNDATION IS GUNNA K-K-K-K-KILL US, SCOOB! Kazuichi. COWARD STOP BEING A COWARD YOU COWARD. Everyones hesitation is all noble and friendship-y and then Kazuichi is just straight up I dont care what happens to the world, I just dont want to die, man.
  • HEY WHAT IS THIS NONSENSE. I cycle through the dialogue once and then the game just starts eating all my health. Not cool, man.
  • Oh, it was a supposed to lose fight er debate. Still not cool.
  • Hajime freezes and is like I cant choose either these both suck and Makoto has the nerve to act surprised. Again: 1) these guys succumbed to despair before 2) these guys wanted the world to end before 3) youve put them in an even worse position because you morons let Ultimate Despair upload a virus when you werent looking. This is 100% on you.
  • You're asking them to give up everything, effectively permanently kill people they love, and return to a world that hates them and where they are twisted husks of despair and you have the AUDACITY to act surprised they don't want to go along right away? Y'all first game chumps are dumb.
  • Everyone is rightly freaking out and Kyoko is coldly like get a hold of yourselves. Umexcuse me lady? Did you hear the part where were going to be erased (again) because you couldnt keep us maniacs away from the slots where you put in USB drives?
  • Junko is surprisingly okay with everyone being paralyzed with indecision. She goes from I will UNLEASH despair upon the world to yeah tropical beach party forever we can be friends and eat sno cones. The power of the sno cone. Never doubt it.
  • And now were all back on a beach yay! We can just live like this forever and ever and ever and EVER and EVER and EvEr and eVeR and
  • I shoot my one bullet at the one thing I can but nothing happens. This thing is RIGGED.
  • I dont know who the Ultimate Imposter is, but based on the voice acting here he is a proper southern lady.
  • Luckily Chiaki somehow breaks through to reason with Hajime. Jeez, shes been dead an entire case now but shes still the game MVP.
  • Chiaki with some inspirational words here trying to push Hajime on the right path. Chiaki: Even if I cease to existEven if you guys never remember me againThat doesnt mean I will completely disappear. As long as everyone continues to move forward toward the future we created togetherI will never disappear. See Kyoko? See how saying something else than get a hold of yourself you PUSSIES might be helpful here? This is giving me Kyoko hate flashbacks all of a sudden.
  • All bringing in the three guys from the last game did was now affirm my suspicions that this cast is so much better than the last cast it is criminal. Chiaki out here literally saving everyone because these three dopes didnt have a plan, completely botched what awful plan they did have, and then jumped into the game without thinking to yell at us to do the right thing after we learned like ten different pieces of horrible news all at once. Thank you Chiaki, at least!

  • Junkos real plan here, according to Makoto, is that now that avatars have been deleted, she wants to use the graduation program to upload her mind into the bodies of everyone who has been deleted. Um. That sounds bad.
  • Really quick question here Junko why not just keep killing people until its only Fuyuhiko left who is so desperate to get out and see Peko that hell vote graduate no matter what? Why stop at 5?
  • Hey no worries guys! Junko says we can compromise because the data of everyone who has been deleted is currently stored within her. She can act out their parts so its basically like the same thing anyway. Win-win?
  • Junko: In fact, I have a looooooot of data on Fuyuhiko, so I know some things thatll make you happyI can play a version of Peko thats more to your liking than she ever was! There is something about this line that is so creepy that I hate it and love how gross and awful it is at the same time.
  • Junko wants to make other people Junko, so she can then make other people Junko, and make a Junko-Utopia for all her Junkos. Hey dawg I heard you like Junko so I put some Junko in your Junkos.
  • Makoto: No, theres a reason Junko couldnt [kill everyone]. Thats why she made you guys kill each other. Oh hey look at the game actually answering my logic questions this time!
  • Since Junko took over Monomis role she had to follow the rules laid out for the teacher which meant no murdering the students. Ok, so that explains why she couldnt kill us. Butwhy not just not say anything and continue having us kill each other. Why leave the five of us alive to vote?
  • Hey Future Foundation not to tell you how to do your job, but just go around to the tubes containing the dead people and shoot them in the head. Now their bodies are dead too and Junko cant upload herself to anything. Crisis averted!
  • Oh duh the shutdown sequence I learned from the vision of Makoto I had. We can do that too and it would involve a lot less shooting of dead human husks. Thats fine too, I guess.
  • Junko hasnt heard of this yet. Oh how the despair tables have turned, my friend.
  • Woops them tables got turned right back around really quick. Sorry, Ms Junko maam, no offense Ms. Junko maam.
  • So she did know about the shutdown sequence and also knew its limitation. Out of the 15 students that started, half of them have to push graduate and repeat at the same time. And theres only six here because Junko had everyone else kill each other. You know, Im suddenly realizing why she stopped at five people left.
  • Nevermind UN-WOOPS. We see your Uno Reverse card and play an Uno Reverse card of our own.
  • Makoto KNEW that there werent enough people here for that. He brought along his own reinforcements.
  • AHH ITS THE ENTIRE CAST FROM THE FIRST GAME ENTERING LIKE A BUNCH OF BADASSES HERE TO SAVE THE DAY
  • Oh nevermind not the entire cast just Byakuya and Kyoko. Still that puts us at eight a.k.a. just enough to shut down the system so EAT IT JUNKO.
  • Aw man Hina doesnt make a guest appearance. At least we did get real Byakyuya this time hes cool too.
  • Byakuya shows up and tells two separate people to shut up within the span of twenty seconds. Yeah, I missed you too, man.
  • Hajime asks what will happen to us if we shut down the program and Byakuya goes uh ahem cough cough nothing youll be find mm hmm ok so lets move on. *doubt gif*
  • Kazuichi: I-its not just that, we want a more detailed explanation Dang Byakuya youre such a bad liar even Kazuichi saw thorugh it.
  • Kyoko, who isnt a damn liar, tells us well just reupload without completing the graduation program. Which means well all go back to being the Remnants of Despair. Byakuya wonders why she would tell us that but were all too busy freaking out to yell at him for it.
  • Kyoko and Makoto, a.k.a. the non-damn liars, promise to help us once we get out. Im still not 100% clear if we will remember this part or not so it seems like uh we may just try to kill you guys again, right?
  • "We won't remember any of this!" "Don't worry we'll help you." "We won't remember your promising to help us." "Don't worry we'll help you!" "I think we are sociopaths, murderers, and war criminals in real life right now, right, and might wake up and try to actively harm you?" "Don't worry we'll help you!"
  • Ok so we will forget everything. Hajime especially doesnt like that because itll mean Chiaki will just be forgotten forever.
  • Junko piles on by pointing out we will resume life in whatever mutilated bodies we had when we entered the program. Yeah thanks we figured that part already JERK.
  • Kazuichi: Why did we become Ultimate Despair in the first place? Yeah Id like to know a bit more about that too if you dont mind.
  • Makoto basically says none of you jerks would tell me so I guess that will remain unresolved. Stupid jerks not saying interesting things when they had a chance.
  • Junkos next big reveal isshe lured the members of the Future Foundation here with the killings by recording things with the cameras! ..oh is that it? Are we just out of the big reveals now? Because thats something I knew like right after the Future Foundation showed up.
  • Sonia Wh-what should I do? I did a lot ofdisgraceful things in front of those cameras! Yeah I wasnt going to mention this before Sonia but Hiro has already been circulating a Sonia Pooping Greatest Hits Volume 1. Well get to destroying those copies once we get back to the real world, but time is sort of a factor here because hes already working on Volume 2.
  • Byakyua: Yousure did. Uh oh now Im curious what Sonia was doing.
  • So they couldnt enter the program until just now. Kyoko says they considered cutting power from the outside by pulling the plug, but were unsure what would happen to everyone still connected inside. Yeah, Im just saying guys, if there is a chance magic Hitler could come back and the only people you would be hurting were magic Goebbels and magic Himmler, maybe you take that chance and pull the plug.
  • Woops turns out the Remnants of Despair willingly let themselves get captured and put into this program as part of their plan to bring Junko back. See guys? Do you see now why you dont try and rehabilitate MASS MURDERERS AND PSYCHOPATHS?
  • So the three of them will be trapped here forever if we dont choose to activate the shutdown sequence. Kyoko is mighty confident that wont happen considering it means the permanent vegetation of three people loved by the people you need to vote with you and also these were bad people in the first place.
  • Junko is banking on us chumps being chumps and not agreeing to activate the shutdown sequence. Now were going to do it purely out of spite.
  • UH OH ONE MORE TWIST LEFT IT LOOKS LIKE. Makoto says Junko will never make him fall into despair and Junko gives him thats where youre wrong friend-o line. It isnt her job to make him fall into despair. Its the masterminds job. Theres someone ABOVE Junko on the crazy despair-o-meter?
  • THE MASTERMIND IS IZURU KAMAKURA?!? You mean the Ultimate Hope/the guy who killed 13 people and started this whole thing off?
  • Oh yeah and the founder of the academy too. Thanks for the reminder Hajime.
  • Izuru Kamakura is so esoteric apparently that even Kyoko doesnt know if he was real or not. Junko, however, puts on her professor glasses and lectures the hell out of us.
  • Whoooooa. Hajime is none other than the infamous Izuru Kamakura himself. That redeems your last twist, game.

  • Makoto: In the real world, youre part of a group that cruelly destroyed your family, friends, and even you own body! You know maybe I would prefer to just hang out in this fake world if Im being honest.
  • Man imagine finding out you mutilated yourself and killed your friends and family two years before you did it. Thats the most despair-y thing I can think of guys. You shouldve just killed us when you had the chance.
  • Welp Hajime just had a flashback to the Nagito boat ride. I guess I was the jerk Nagito was talking to in Chapter 0.
  • I have that flashback of Nagito and then I immediately use that evidence in the next Non-Stop Debate. Hey thats some quick evidence turn around time, game. Maybe let me read it first next time.
  • I was expecting something much more mutilated than that to be honest. I thought Nagito was just a different crazy person for a while because the whole they mutilated themselves thing. I was expecting like an eye gouged out, ear cut off, nose trimmed down kind of thing. Dainty lady hand isnt that bad.
  • Makoto: He probably thought by becoming one with Junko Enoshima, he could make her survive within him. She lives onTHROUGH THIS RIGHT HAND.
  • Makoto details all the horrendous things the Ultimate Despair have done. One of the details is that after Junkos death, they forced a bunch of people to commit suicide. The graphic for that is someone shooting a bunch of people with an assault rifle. I dont think thats suicide. Someone else cant suicide you. Unless youre Nagito, I suppose.
  • Makoto: Some even tried to have children with Junkos dead body. Ok cool thats enough for me, we can stop with the examples now.
  • Makoto explains that there is still hope! If we choose to graduate, we will leave the program, have our old school memories permanently deleted, and be uploaded into our old bodies. Hope! We can return to our mutilated, destroyed bodies in the world where all our friends and families our dead at our hands. ho-hooray?
  • Those who had their avatars deleted cant come back though. RIP dead computer characters.
  • Thats only if we choose to graduate though. We can choose to stay and keep playing this game forever and ever and also not be transported to our gross despair meat suits. Hmmm.
  • Hajime notices something isnt right. Monokuma isnt trying to stop us. Uh oh. I think I missed something somewhere.
  • Something is up with Makoto. I think Ive been duped. Hes like NO DECIDE NOW YOURE LUCKY IM SO OPEN-MINDED.
  • Makoto: Why wont you guys listen to me?! Hajime: wHy WoNt YoU gUyS lIsTeN tO mE?!
  • Yeah this is some sort of imposter ass Makoto. Oris Makoto on the bad guys now? I DONT KNOW WHAT TO BELIEVE
  • Hajime wants to know who this Makoto really is. Monokuma: Simply put, hes Makoto Naegi, whos known for being a cutie-patootie! That is, in fact, not something he was known for so now I know youre lying through your teeth.
  • To prove this isnt Makoto, Hajime asks him why he made the password at the castle 11037. Dumb question. You shouldve asked WHAT the password was because Monokuma made it clear he didnt know. He might know the reasoning behind it once he hears it. Minus one protagonist point Hajime I expected better.
  • Fake Makoto cant answer and disappears in a cloud of failure. Nice try Monokuma. By that I mean TERRIBLE TRY get gud noob.
  • So uh why did Monokuma want us out in the real world then? And if he did why didnt he just let us out without murdering 2/3 of us first?
  • Uh oh Monokuma is going to transform into his true form! Junko? Is that you hiding in there sweetie?
  • AHHH ITS GIANT JUNKO. And she hasshe hasA FLIP PHONE. EVERYONE RUN BEFORE SHE PLAYS SNAKE.
  • I really do like the imagery of giant Junko laying behind her phone where real Junko is doing all the talking and animations.
  • Phone Junkos first comment is on giant Junkos giant boobs not being as giant as they could be. Never change, Danganronpa.
  • Junko: Hey, heywant me to squish you in between them? Big boobs feel good, yknow? OH THE HOPELESS DESPAIR. Well at least we know how she got Kazuichi on her side, now.
  • Junko is back because she made her own AI program when she was still alive. Guess she recruited the Ultimate AI Programmer Person to her side.
  • Someone uploaded her to the Neo World Program. Im guessing Toko. This is why you dont recruit serial killers on the side of good, guys.
  • I forgot how much I missed Junkos rapidly switching personalities. Hey guys lets not kill her this time, ok?
  • Junko ups the prize now and says if they graduate she will resurrect all their dead friends. Um. Psst. Guys. Shes definitely lying and is desperate for us to graduate, likely because she will escape too. She just lied to us about this. Dont believe her.
  • Uck gross I do not like the weird Sandy from Spongebob bucktooth version of Junko. That one can be banished from here on out.
  • Junko is now all its just a game bro and that no one who died in the game seriously DIED or anything like that tee hee. Hajime points out this is not consistent with what she said earlier and her response is basically just hey shut up nerd.
  • This works for Fuyuhiko since hes so desperate to see Peko again. This is a very good lie for this final group. You have Fuyuhiko who lost Peko, Akane who lost Nekomaru, Sonia who lost Gundham, and Kazuichi who lost his dignity. Now they can get it all back. Except Kazuichi. Hes well on the road to becoming an incel.
  • Sonia again proving why she is the late game MVP. She tried to argue with Fuyuhiko that its important to understand the principals behind it or Junko could just be lying.
  • Hajime wants to know what Junko gets out of this and shes like nothing tee hee I swear giggle I just want to help *bounce* and make this more dramatic *wink* Ok guys you see this right here is why we cant trust her.
  • When it comes time to press graduate or repeat I press repeat. Then repeat again. Then again. Well, I am repeating something I suppose.
  • They wont let me press repeat even though this is clearly a trap.
  • Real Makoto shows up this time and yells ITS A TRAP. Its too late and we lose at least two alliance cruisers before we can turn around.
  • I TOLD YOU GUYS IT WAS A TRAP. Junko is clearly trying to escape or something. Shes way too into getting us out of here instead of just murdering the last five of us like she did to everyone else.
  • Makoto is here to throw hands with Junko and save us, maybe not necessarily in that order. Im only like 75% sure this is the real Makoto though so maybe lets get some confirmation before anyone gets too excited.
  • Makoto now must answer to Junko since hes in the program but recognizes the risk and is pushing through anyway.
  • Junko: Ugh! You always had such reckless hope! I love you sooooo much that you disgust me! Junko taking a page out of Nagitos handbook and is getting totally horned up on that hope right now.
  • Makoto says shes lying about the dead friends coming back to life. Junko does her best puppy dog eyes and goes nuh uh. Akane: Who do we trust!? Hmmmm yeah I dont know tough one. Do we trust the guy from the hope organization or mega Hitler. Really tough choice here guys.

Chapter 6 Trial GAME OVER MAN GAME OVER
  • FINAL TRIAL TIME MY BODY IS READY
  • We start with a layup of what is this worlds true identity. Considering we found a couple clues that literally spelled it out for us word for word what this worlds true identity was, this feels a bit like cheating. Still no one else knows but me though. Did you guys not investigate at all? What were you doing what the walls turned into a bunch of numbers and you were standing upside down in the hallway? That didnt trip any alarms for you?
  • Actually I dont even get to answer the question. I do another terrible Hangmans Gambit and then I start to stutter an answer but Monokuma interrupts. Hey dude if youre just going to answer these please dont make me play the least fun minigame of the bunch, k?
  • Kazuichi: If this is a gameare my words being displayed in a text window right now? CHEESE IT GUYS, HES ON TO US.
  • No one believes me because the real world frequently glitches out and numbers rain from the walls so who could even tell the difference.
  • Sonia points out Monokumas nonsensical abilities would make sense in this context and oh dang I somehow didnt even think of that. Wow this game was pretty clever, looking back.
  • Thinking about it a bit more, I feel like this is normally the kind of twist that would annoy me but Id say its well earned. Normally it would feel dumb, but they played with the little bits of suspension of disbelief you needed to have to enjoy the story in the first game and ramped it up enough where I was like ok this is dumb but within the realm of believability I guess. Looking back, I shouldve suspected SOMETHING but they did a good job hiding it and suddenly a whole bunch of the story makes a lot more sense.
  • No one wants to believe Monokuma, so I have to bust out my irrefutable evidence of BABE HIYOKO. Everyone agrees she was definitely not that babe-like here so we can finally move on.
  • I dont know if it is just me, but I love this. One of the biggest complaints I had in the first game was there is no way they wouldnt notice their body aged two years when their memories disappeared/did everyone have exactly the same hair style/body size or what. This game hears that complaint, gives me the finger, and then actually provides a reason for it. A++ would complain about again.
  • I like to imagine a world where someone read my playthrough of the first game and was like ok fuck this guy and corrected that problem in the second game specifically just to spite me.
  • To help drive this point home, Hajime points out that even though two to three years of memories were lost, Peko still looked the same to Fuyuhiko. Fuyuhiko agrees that was weird. Also guys, mirrors. Why do you have to rely on how Peko looked to Fuyuhiko when everyone has access to mirrors and would be able to tell if they aged 2-3 years or not.
  • Monokuma says that even though were in a simulation, it doesnt mean the things we are feeling arent real. Hajime: So if our brains believe something is realits no different than if it actually happened? Uh oh. UH OH.
  • So what is going to be revealed here in the next minute or so is that all our friends that died are seriously forever dead now. IF YOU DIE IN THE GAME YOU DIE IN REAL LIFE.
  • Sonia corroborates this by talking about a prisoner from a different country that was strapped to a bed and made to believe he was bleeding to death. It was just water dripping, but he thought it was his blood and he died anyway. Uh huh you know a lot about this Sonia. What country did you say this was again? Uh..George. George Glassistan.
  • Fuyuhiko is psyched ot find out this was just a game. Everyone who was killed should still be alive in the real world! Psst. Fuyuhiko. Maybe re-read that part we just went over about the prisoner Ms. Sonia tortured, buddy.
  • Monokuma poops on that idea immediately and then does his little Monokuma victory dance at the despair.
  • Monokuma: Its not like their bodies are completely dead, so I cant say its a true death but AHA. So theyre mostly dead. Theres a big difference between mostly dead and all dead, I hear.
  • *SO YOURE SAYING THERES A CHANCE GIF*
  • So theyre like in some sort of comma with all the parts that make them THEM stripped away and lost to the code. Or something. I bet the Ultimate Computer AI can fix that! maybe.
  • Monokuma tells them it was all the Future Foundations fault and these big dumb dumbs all believe him. Did not of you find a single clue? Anyone? Anyone at all? Chiaki, where are you when I need you most?
  • After I clarify Monomi was the observer (seriously doing all the heavy lifting here, guys) Monokuma confirms that she was only there to monitor the 15 of us. Everyone freaks out because were 16 STRONG DANG NABBIT. Did you guys forget the last trial already where it was confirmed Chiaki was working with Monomi? Hello? Did you guys fall asleep during the last case?
  • Sonia: Could it have been Chiaki? Oh thank goodness. Ok Sonia, youre promoted to designated helper now. The other three of you go sit in the corner. Dont touch any buttons unless we tell you to.
  • OH WERE GETTING CLOSE NOW. Monokuma calls the Future Foundation World Ender again and when we all say thats FAKE NEWS he says its true for at least the people stuck in here. We demand to see his true identity and he gets all silent. THE SUSPENSE.
  • He says he will (Eep!) but that will have to wait because the main cast has finally arrived (EEP!!!)
  • Makoto! Hes back! SAVE US MAKOTO YOURE OUR ONLY HOPE. Three of the four people here forgot Monomi and Chiaki were on the same side even though that case happened ten hours ago. Help.
  • Kazuichi is excited that the Future Foundation is here to save us but Makoto gives him the biggest -_- in the history of the world.
  • Hajime: Isnt he acting a bitstrange? This guys attitudeits as ifhes being cautious of us? Wait wait wait wait. Are we all the remnants of despair? Is that whats happening here? No no no no no. Hold on.
  • OH THATS IT OH WHOOOOOOOOOOOA HOW DID I MISS THAT
  • So it wasnt one or two or five of us that were the Remnants of Despair. It was the entire cast. Ohhhhhhh and thats why our memories were erased to try and de-despair us.
  • I swear these last three cases are vastly improving my opinion of the game as a whole. Looking back, suddenly so much stuff makes sense and this is legitimately a great twist.
  • Well now that I finished that Logic Drive Im sure my other surviving cast mates will take this well
  • We were the baddies all along. Powzers. Hey thanks for trying to help us but Im 100% sure were war criminals and it wont matter if were reformed or not. We caused the end of the world and murdered millions. Pretty sure the punishment for that is super steep.
  • Ohhhh so Nagito tried to kill us all because he learned the truth about us. You know, honestly, I get it. Like still boo you for trying to kill us, but if you have a chance to kill five mega Hitlers all at once you take it, man.
  • Fuyuhiko: Why do we have to be treated like the bad guys!? Probably has something to do with mass murder, chaos, and terrorism, if I had to guess. Thats just me though.
  • Kazuichi: I-I dont need a twist like that! Nah man trust me its a good one.
  • UH OH JUNKO JUST GOT NAMED DROPPED

While Suprak is obviously playing right now and likley won't be posting for a bit, will take that mention of Mafia to reccomend to any fans of it the VN Raging Loop, which is essentially Mafia the VN...with werewolves! Very good game, also on sale right now I believe.

This is a Kemco game? Of all the horrible Kemco games they localized through LRG for the Vita, why wasn't this one of them? WHAT THE HELL KEMCO.

I've put it on my wishlist though because it sounds super interesting.

And I mean, Mafia is basically just a less supernatural version of Werewolf.

(Disclaimer: I quit the mafia community when it started getting into racial politics.)

I've played mafia here for like seven years now, and I literally have no clue what that second line is in reference to.

Ok so in the season 3 Office episode A Benihana Christmas, Andy, Michael, Jim and Dwight go to Benihana to help comfort Michael. This group of four tries to sit at one of those tables where they make the food right in the middle and the seats face it around the side. Michael, Andy, and Jim sit down and then before Dwight can sit down, this other couple of complete fucking idiots sits down before he he can. Then they have the audacity to look at him like he's rude when he is talking across them.

Like, hey, assholes. Just move over so he can sit with his friends.

Yeah I'd be very happy if the COVID package passed as Biden wants it, honestly, so long as it includes all the other good stuff in addition to the 1.4k.

But I am also all for progressives hammering moderate dems for more money on top of it.

OH!

Something I just thought of maybe. Maybe Monokuma is graduating everyone NOT because the number five matters, but maybe because now the remnants outnumber the non-remnants? Like the remnants were Peko/Mikan/Hajime/Fuyuhiko/Person X where Person X is one of the three final survivors? And now there are 3 remnants and 2 non-remnants and the virus can just try to get the remnants to do whatever it wants them to do by majority vote since this graduation ceremony is majority vote?

Basically a video game version of Mafia. Mafia has outnumbered the TOWN. GAME OVER FOLKS.

But then who is the final remnant? None of Kazuichi/Akane/Sonia make sense. HMMMMM.

Remnants of These Thoughts And Ramblings
Oh man is this the last random insane theory rambling I'm going to have this game? How sad! I don't want this game to end just yet. Apparently I've been doing this for over a month now but it doesn't feel like it.

Ok so here are the things the game definitely told me are active and probably in this game in some form. There is the Ultimate Hope, some mega amazing person who was the best at everything and was basically everything the school liked. Also he was crazy and murdered 13 other students. Sad! There are also the 15 survivors from the school that Makoto and the others in the first game tried to rescue. Some were in bad shape it sounded like. Then there are the remnants of despair, including Junko's second in command who was supposedly nearly as bad as Junko. Our case is some combination of this group. Maybe.

Things that I know. Mikan was clearly a member of this group. She straight up murders Hiyoko and Ibuki, so those are probably not members of the group. Mikan started giving Hajime all sorts of attention as soon as she remembered what she was, so I am going to guess that not only is Hajime a remnant of despair, he is also Junko's second in command. He might be the Ultimate Hope guy too? Considering that person went nuts and killed 13 people, he might've wound up siding with Junko in her whole quest to ruin everything.

Nagito...probably wasn't a remnant of despair? He said he wanted to kill Junko himself in that little scene at the start. So maybe he was a survivor that was just crazy but not necessarily on Junko's side? I'm not sure on him, honestly.

I'm going to take a guess here and say Fuyuhiko (and thus Peko) were also members of this group. Case 2 and 3 make a lot more sense if it was whatever this virus is trying to awaken the remnants of despair by targeting them specifically. That's why Fuyuhiko gets essentially the motive targeting him specifically in case 2 and Mikan gets it in case 3. So team despair is: Mikan/Hajime/Fuyuhiko/Peko? Maybe one more? Monokuma highlights the fact they need five to get this to work, so maybe five remnants of despair entered the program which is why they need five to get this to work. I have no guess who number five might be, or if there really is a number 5.

So this whole thing is a computer simulation/therapy of some sort. It looks like the non-remnants might've been injured in some way/traumatized and this is some experimental treatment to help them. But then somehow the remnants fuck with things. That guy at the beginning (Hajime?) had Junko in his pocket or something so maybe he uploaded this and then got himself in somehow? Makoto fucked up somehow, is the short of things. From his message it sounds like he isn't necessarily on the remnants of despair's side, but maybe got tricked or a some of those 15 survivors were actually remnants in disguise?

Whatever happened, I think Hajime is a bad guy and just doesn't remember because this computer program erased his memory and they weren't able to easily get it back. There are likely several others we don't know about yet and my money is on Fuyuhiko and Peko. I think this last chapter might be super interesting where maybe Sonia/Akane/Kazuichi have to confront Fuyuhiko and Hajime as not being the people they thought they were.

Yeah I'm definitely finishing this tonight. Don't care how much is left! I feel like I have most of it figured out? There are a couple things I'm not really sure of though.

WISH ME LUCK EVERYONE

SUPRAKS FINAL (?!?) POWER RANKINGS OH NO I'M SAD
16. Fatty Fatty Has No Name, Got Stabbed Quick Though All The Same

15. Teruteru

14. Mahiru

13. Peko

12. Ibuki

11. Hiyoko

10. Mikan

9. Nekomaru

8. Gundham

7. Nagito

6. Chiaki

5. Hajime Ok, so, again, I think these final five are safe. BUT. BUT. Hajime might be the Ultimate Despair Pt 2 and they might have to kill him. I think what happened here is a couple of the remaining members of the remnants of despair infiltrated this group of survivors and did something to corrupt the system in an attempt to bring back Junko. One of them was clearly Mikan. But I doubt she was the only one and Hajime would make for the best TWIST option of the characters left. I actually think a handful of people in the class were likely to be the final remnants based on all the stuff we found while the others were tortured by the remnants. We found clues like Makoto and the others had the remnants are were protecting them, they had a machine that could wipe peoples minds (which they used) and could even overwrite peoples memories. So something happened, Makoto and the others tried to remove the trauma from the people that were tortured, but accidentally let some of the remnants sneak in and they corrupted the system somehow. I feel like the most obvious candidate here is Hajime who 1) isnt an Ultimate, 2) is apparently the sole survivor of the reserve course, and 3) had all this information erased from his mind. SO. Hajime might be a baddie with his gf Mikan. Mikan was all over him when she got her memories back so that could definitely be possible. Or he could be the Ultiamte Hope and Mikan was the baddie and we already killed her.

4) Fuyuhiko I guess Im just ranking everyone else based on their likelihood to have been Junkos second in command other than Hajime. Fuyuhiko would fit the description considering he was the head of a massive criminal enterprise that likely killed people and he underwent a tragedy while at school, giving him all the more reason to want all the other Ultimates dead. Also, it is canon at this point he literally murdered someone in high school as revenge for his sister. It would be quite easy to tempt him to THE DARK SIDE. It would actually make a bit of sense then to have the second case so specifically targeted at him. It makes zero sense to have a motive be hey this one person had something really bad happen to them UNLESS it was needed because it was an important part of the story. It would also heighten his redemption arc a bit if, after he swore to live well because of Pekos sacrifice, he wound up being the big bad all along. He would need to confront that to finish his arc which could be interesting. HMMM. I guess there is a way Hajime could be the ultimate hope and Mikan/Fuyuhiko were the remnants.

3) Kazuichi I think the other three are probably safe for sure FOR SURE. Kazuichi never struck me as evil, just kind of stalker-y and obsessed with Sonia. I also think hes way too cowardly to get involved with a group like the Ultimate Despair. Hes more like someone theyd immediately kill for crying too much. Also if they were recruiting powerful and influential members of society, I think someone like the Ultimate Crime Boss would fit a bit better than the Ultimate Guy Who Can Replace Your Radiator.

2) Akane Akane is way too dumb to be an evil member of a cult. They wouldnt be able to convert her. Theyd try and she would just stare there blankly before eating a bucketful of burgers. She did have that horribly creepy Free Time where she basically admits she was molested when she was younger, but that wasnt in the main game so it would be a bit weird if you needed some optional side content to give context to why the despair person mightve been vulnerable to a group like this.

1) Sonia Shes way too in to friendship and happiness and helping your friends and being awesome. The last time I trusted the sweet cute girl in this game to be on my side she turned out to be a homicidal maniac so I am likely going to be wrong here too but Im ready to be hurt again.

  • We find the synthetic neuroprogram thingy or something like that which details exactly how you could put a helmet on a person and transport them to a virtual world and replace their memories and theyd think it was the real world and it is obviously what happened to us. I KNEW IT I CALLED IT. I mean I called it like two minutes ago, but that still counts as a call, right?
  • It is so obvious even Hajime cant feign ignorance and goes AHHHHHHHHH! and begins talking about falling into despair. Yeah man sorry all your VR friends are dead but the good news is they might be ok IRL.
  • Or maybe they werent really friends and are just virtual programs? Theyre all facets of Hajimes personality or friends he used to know or something? Im just spitballing here so I might delete this if it sounds too stupid later.
  • Oh hey Alter Ego! Hiya old friend. Care to explain whats going on?
  • Alter Ego doesnt know whats going on. CURSE YOU ALTER EGO WE ARE NO LONGER FRIENDS.
  • Ok so Alter Ego knows some stuff. Chiaki and Monomi were observers that were supposed to help make this place like a paradise. But then a virus started showing up and doing bad things. They guess the virus was physically uploaded to which Hajime points out the only person who should have access to the computers at the facility would be one of the members of the Future Foundation.
  • Is it possibleone of the six survivors from the first game is a traitor and the other five left alive now are the other survivors in this simulation? Does that make any sense? No. But maybe? Nah never mind.
  • Alter Ego begins explaining the limitations of the virus and then Monokuma shows up to go er wait maybe I shouldnt let it do this and glitches out the game. Hey man maybe if you dont want the AI explaining how to beat you maybe you shouldnt have let me talk to it in the first place.
  • Now were talking to a different red mysterious outline but by the hair I can tell is it was Makoto. No other AI program would have hair like that.
  • He explains how the virus took over and hes SUPER DUPER sorry that every one is dying. Theyve been forced to watch it and dont know how to stop the virus. Thanks guy, super helpful talk.
  • Apparently they werent sure the program was even going to work even without the virus but needed to put us in it to save us. Yeah probably shouldve run some tests on lab rats to make sure it didnt become a murder simulator first, chief.
  • There is a way to defeat Monokuma! We need to enter the forced shut down sequence but to do that we need to have half the people and in order to do that we need to somehow get that number asfk:jaejdiaoc(circle)adfoie(plus). Hey can you repeat that last part I lost you at the circle.
  • Even Monokuma seems confused and doesnt know what happened. He asks and I LIE LIKE A LIAR LYING PANTS. Take that meanie. Maybe I really am the Ultimate Despair Pt. 2.
  • CLASS TRIAL TIME WOOO. Er I mean Graduation Exam time also woo.
  • There is this weird spiral of numbers and I sit there like an idiot for at least a minute because I thought it was a cutscene. Turns out Im supposed to walk. Oops.
  • While walking through the endless abyss I clean up my pets poop. Just because the world is a lie should my tamagachi have to live in filth.
  • Whoa so this tamagachi is a program within a program. I think were hitting Inception levels of nonsense now.
  • Ok so we can either Graduate or Repeat. Seems like a simple enough choice. I choose the one where Im not trapped in a murderous computer game, thanks.
  • Monokuma wont let us graduate unless we actually go through with the trial though. It invalidates Kazuichis great idea of just throwing up deuces and smashing graduate immediately.
  • Buthe has to let us graduate and its a formality? Im a bit confused about the rules here. Seems like the game is desperately trying to come up with a reason that we cant just hit graduate immediately so lets just go with that and move on.
  • Monokuma calls mini-Nekomaru a toy and Akane gets very mad. Yeah! How dare you insult her sentient vibrator that way!
  • Monokuma makes one last comment about killing Akane (as is tradition) and we go on to the final preparation segment. OH BOY ITS HAPPENING.

  • This was organized by a group know as the ULTIMATE DESPAIR who used their connections throughout society to start uprisings, brainwash people, and do other bad things to make the situation worse. This is the part the game sort of handwaves over because it is hard to explain how something called THE BIGGEST MOST AWFUL MOST TRAGIC EVENT IN HUMAN HISTORY started because of a couple of emo high school students but honestly the logic at least makes enough sense that I won't dwell on it too much.
  • Monokuma now is bored of drawing manga so he just tells me the next part (while Fuyuhiko gives him weird side eyes from the same room). Junko used her despair powers to recruit other people into her despair cult. She recruited a whole bunch of powerful people so no one could stop her and then she went full on MEGA DESPAIR and ruined the whole world. What a jerk.
  • Humans who are obsessed with their philosophy have an uncanny power to attract others. Its a trait shared by many famous leaders throughout history right? Theres nothing strange about it. I mean its still a little strange but ok game.
  • Ive noticed there is a lot of meta commentary going on now where the characters of this game were basically me last game. A dojo with cherry blossom trees in full bloom HOW UNREALISTIC A single high school girl caused the world to end I DONT THINK SO A viking taking over congress THIS STORY HAS JUMPED THE SHARK.
  • Oh, and then at the end Monokuma throws in the tasty tidbit that at the end of the reserve course uprising the whole 2,300 person student body committed suicide. EEP IM A GHOST.
  • Oh no, there was one who was spared. Ok so either Im the ultimate hope or some sort of general in Junkos army. I hope Im not the real traitor. Chiaki would be so mad at me.
  • Nah Im good. The followers would mutilate their bodies as part of their despair and I dont look too mutilated unless Im hiding some pretty gross things under my clothes. So I must be the Ultimate Hope guy.
  • Fuyuhiko says okay boomer and rides off on his skateboard. Hes not afraid of Junko because shes DEAD and whatever lame dopes are still trying to fulfill her agenda cant be as bad as her. Its not a bad point, honestly, if were dealing with the mutilated B team.
  • Next we get confirmation the Future Foundation is made up of the survivors from the first game and also that they were the ones that took us in. Hey, Chiaki, I like you and all, but maybe tell us this next time so we dont go the entire game thinking the Future Foundation are the bad guys.
  • Izuru Kamukura was the founder of the school! AHA! I knew I heard that name before. Now I dont remember the context of when it came up recently that prompted me to wonder if I heard the name before, though.
  • Ok going through the evidence, that is the name of the person listed as The Ultimate Hope. Uh. Huh. Okay so I am not quite clear what this means, and Hajime himself points out it is a strange contradiction. STRANGE.
  • Uhhhhhhh why is Hiyoko a babe and not a ten year old in this photograph? I mean, congrats on the glow up and all but WHAT IS GOING ON?
  • Kazuichis brilliant conclusion is Hiyoko had an older sister with the same first and last name. So we have a George Foreman type of situation here where her dad just named all his kids George after suffering numerous head injuries.
  • Monokuma shows up to say that is 100% definitely Hiyoko and she mustve had a growth spurt or something. We say that cant be possible and he does his pu hu HUUUU routine. Mm hmm k thanks.
  • You know, Im beginning to think this is some sort of computer simulation, right? It would explain why reality is glitching out like it is. It would explain why Nagito had Junkos hand in the prelude and why Hiyoko was a babe in the photo but then wasnt in our time together. And why the island was all changed. It just doesnt make sense any other way. The glitches are my biggest clue here, but I feel like everything else falls into place then a bit better.
  • We mightve been captured by the ultimate despair and forced into this computer simulation for reasons? I dont quite know why were in a computer simulation though is the only thing.
  • Another room another floating email. This one details the REMNANTS OF DESPAIR which is either a screamo band from the early 2000s or followers of Junko still active after her death. They talk about a leader possibly on par with Junko considering the tragedy hasnt just ended yet. I have a bad feeling that might be me. Im either that or the Ultimate Hope and Im not sure which.
  • The next floating email says they managed to get all 15 of us er I mean students that are TOTALLY not related. Good! They didnt get the Remnants of Despair though. Bad! You guys might want to get on that before they unleash the second most terrible, most awful, most tragic even in all of human history.
  • Also if the dummies from the first game tried to save the survivors only to accidentally get us trapped in a computer murder game because they let the remnants of despair infiltrate it I will be VERY CROSS with them. All my favorite characters are dead because of you!
  • OH SNAP. There is yet another floating email (the worst of all email types) that indicates Makoto (and his pals?) are for some reason siding with the Remnants of Despair. Why? I refuse to believe they flipped sides after the first game. Maybe Toko since she was already a murderer. But everyone else was good people. WHAT HAPPENED?

Chapter 0/6 Daily Life/Deadly Life/Robot Madness
  • I have no clue who Nagito is talking to here at the start of the chapter but I can only assume it is really bad news.
  • Nagito and mystery person are on a ship of some sort. Mystery person I pity you for being stuck in a small space with Nagito for any period of time.
  • The mystery person tells Nagito they have luck for their talent as well. I would guess protagonist from the first game but mystery person seems like too much of a snob for that to be true.
  • Mystery person is also bad business. Sounds like they were possibly a follower of Junko and has some very interesting views on how the mediocre are holding back the truly excellent.
  • Well the good news is this chapter is as bonkers crazy as the last one ended. Within the first five minutes, the mystery person says they have the Ultimate Despair in their pocket (an IPhone with Flappy Bird?) and Nagito shows that he has somehow attached Junkos hand to his arm and is very proud of the fact it hasnt rotted yet. I dont remember Nagito having a womans hand when he was still alive, so Im assuming this is part of the fever dream.
  • Im just guessing though because I have zero clue whats going on WEEEEEEEE
  • Nagito is also hopeful Junko can be brought back since she is his SWORN ENEMY and he wants to kill her himself. Odd to sew her hand on to your arm then man, but, yeah, sure.
  • ???: I see, so you salvaged the bodyyou really are a boring person. You know there are a lot of words Id use for someone that that has sewn on part of a corpse to their body. Boring isnt one though.
  • ??? has like four other corpse heads sewn to their chest so dont come to them with your weak one hand nonsense, Nagito.
  • Oh so we were sailing to Jabberwock Island. Thats sort of what I thought before Nagito pulled out his Junko hand.
  • ??? says he wont ever see Nagito again because hes boring and useless. Poor Nagito even other crazy people dont like him.
  • Oh wait that was Chapter 0 and its over now. Well Im not re-ranking the characters so just assume my previous list holds true again.
  • Hajime wakes up and has no recollection of how he went from the trial grounds to an empty classroom. Either this is part of his mental breakdown or hes been drinking again.
  • Monokuma calls us to the school gymnasium and when I get there only the living people are there. Dead people mustve gotten stuck in limbo somewhere.
  • Monokuma uh made this school between the entrance of the ruins and the front door and did it for the main cast who is coming to visit us. Is he talking about the cast from the last game? Im curious where this game occurs in relationship to the first game. I cant remember if that was established or not.
  • Before letting us graduate, he wants us to know the truth about the WORLD waiting for us out there. I'm now assuming this takes place canonically during the capitol riot and that shit was too wild even for Monokuma.
  • Hajime: So many things I dont understand have happened on this island You and me both, man.
  • Monokuma left notes around the school for us to find so we can learn the truth about the outside world. Hey man can you just tell us so we dont have to wander around for like ten minutes
  • Everyone loudly says well since we dont have to worry about the murders any more we can just split up! before wandering off and my danger alarm just went from mild to EXTRA SPICY.
  • I leave the gymnasium and Im transported somewhere else and the screen is all broken and static-y. Hey can someone else confirm theyre seeing this? I might need to call an eye doctor.
  • The first room we investigate is the dojo. There is a conspicuous magazine on the floor which is a manga made by Monokuma about the history of Hopes Peak Academy. I knew this whole thing was just a front for a struggling manga writer to get inspiration for his next novel.
  • This game Monokuma has made a video game, a movie, and a manga series. Holy shit guys he's not evil he's just trying to have a captive audience for his creative endeavors.
  • The manga tells us two important things. One, the tragedy happened and was bad and two, the reserve corps was created to get more money for the main department to study ultimate talents. Wait are we students or lab rats?
  • Monokuma loudly remarks that it is sure weird I dont remember I didnt have any talent since that should be something I knew about before I went to school and they claim to have only erased my school memories. Ok so Ill keep in mind theres another twist coming about that, thanks man.
  • Next manga says the tragedy of Hopes Peak had a key players by the name of Izuru Kamukura. I dont remember if thats someone Im supposed to know or not. I think thats a new name? Maybe? It sounds vaguely familiar for some reason but I dont want to Google it for fear of spoilers.
  • Izuru was the best of the best and the most amazing cool person ever and he could burp the entire alphabet in a single burp and always got that water bottle flip trip to work on its first try. He wasTHE ULTIMATE HOPE which means Nagito is a damn imposter.
  • To protect such rare talent, the academy completely conceleaed all evidence of Izurus origins and identity. Ok cool so Im actually Izuru right? Just with my memory hacked? That's why I can't remember things from before school isn't it? I'm the Ultimate Awesome Dude so suck it Nagito.
  • Errr except the student council, 13 more of the best and brightest, were all brutally murdered by Izuru. So hopefully Im not Izuru. Hopefully Izuru is someone else. Nagito, I changed my mind, you can be the Ultimate Hope again.
  • The school tried to keep this a secret. Hey, quick question, how do you keep the murder of 13 students, all at once, a secret? Did they have a Weekend At Bernies type scenario where they put sunglasses on them and had some one operate them like a puppet, waving at the parents from the school windows and sending text messages about how they could come out now because they were dead ER I mean dead tired.
  • Hmm so another student (a.k.a. Junko) used this to their advantage to reveal the secrets to the world and get the reserve course students to rise up since they were already badly treated. I mean, not 13 of them getting murdered and the school pretending it never happened bad but still pretty bad. They didnt get any chicken tenders at lunch. It was serious.
  • This heralded Hopes Peak Academys destruction. To be fair, it does sound like they deserved it. Trying to cover up the murder of 13 students is not a great thing.
  • The reserve course uprising eventually made its way online and began corrupting people from all over the world. Damn you reddit. First you break the stock market and now the entire world?

I can't wait to discuss the game after you're done.

The correct order for what you have left is Ultra Despair Girls - Anime - V3.

Ok thanks! I have the games and was considering getting crunchyroll specifically for the anime.

UshiromiyaEva posted...
Yes...just be aware that the quality of those products is not on par with the mainline franchise.

Mileage may vary. ESPECIALLY the Vita version of UDG, nab that on PS4 or PC if you have the option.

Oh really? I had a couple friends tell me 3 is the best of the games. Er, V3. Apparently 3 =/= V3.

I've heard much more mixed things on Despair Girls. Unfortunately I'm a huge Vita fan (I think I literally have every physical NA game outside of like five) and I already own it for the Vita. From what I've heard it probably isn't worth buying twice so I'm just gonna try my luck here and try to power through to get back to the good stuff.

I've been purposefully quiet while you were going into this case, because I didn't want to raise your expectations too high, but 2-5 is legitimately my favorite murder mystery in all of fiction, and it's why Nagito is my favorite character in all of Danganronpa. Thankfully, it seems like you agree with both counts, and I couldn't be happier about it. 2-5 is the first major reason everyone gets really excited to see a Danganronpa playthrough topic.

Yeah, the last half hour of the trial is sooooo fucking good, and it's the little details like this that really add up to make it a master class of writing.

And good call on waiting until today to finish, cuz 2-6 takes a while.

Have you watched Knives Out? Different medium (and I'm not quite sure you would classify this as a murder mystery) but that is the one recent fiction example that jumps out at me as being really remarkable.

(Not to try to change your mind or anything though because 2-5 was truly excellent so I get it)

2. this epilogue is just as long as any other chapter, if not longer. so leave yourself the time.

3. 2-5 is the best case in the series. that said i think the cast makes this game way more enjoyable than game 1 on every level, even 2-2 and 2-3. but there were no reservations on 2-1 and 2-4, which i have as better than any game 1 case. part of it which i'm not sure you've mentioned is that classmates are just a ton smarter in trials, and adding the agree mechanic is so strong.

4. game definitely still hates you enough to make you do panic-talk even in the best of cases...

5. from a dr2 perspective. sonia is definitely the best character remaining and she grew a ton in 2-4 and 2-5. but with akane/fuyuhiko/kazuichi, the rest of the cast entering it kinda ensures the banter opps and iq level will be weaker.

6. don't spoil DDLC... ! been kinda glazing over those comments in fear.

7. anyway, still loving these long, detailed recaps! looking forward to the ending

2) I stupidly started last night, finished "chapter 0" and was like "oh shoot this is actually a full case" like five minutes into chapter 6 so I had to stop. The trophy list has almost the same completion percentage for chapter 5 as the "complete the game" one, so I thought this was just some brief little wrap up. Turns out everyone just is really interested on how things finish after chapter 5 I guess!

4) I don't know if I wasn't paying enough attention or if it has just been too long, but I still don't feel like I fully understand how PTA works. I press when I'm supposed to but it keeps telling me I'm missing and I don't fully understand. But then I activate the uber mode and it literally clears almost the entire counter with me just mashing buttons. The whole set up is kinda a mess. I still hate it less than hangman's gambit though!

6) Erp. Sorry. Super careless of me. The good news is I didn't actually spoil anything but I probably shouldn't have said anything at all since it is for a completely unrelated game. I'll be more careful!

There's no hope for the GOP.

This isn't even a rep people hate.

Well obviously he can't say for sure. It isn't like she did anything truly repugnant like say "awomen" or advocate for affordable healthcare for everyone.

Chapter 5 Reflections of "Do I Want To Keep Playing Immediately Or Stop Playing Forever?"
It is 2:30 AM as of writing this up right now and I desperately want to go back and keep playing. I feel like I am seconds away from getting those plot revelations I've been desperate for and I don't want to wait until normal waking hours to find them out.

This case was excellent. Well written and clever and the perfect closure for both Nagito and Chiaki. Even with Chapter 4 I was like "is this game really better than DR1" and now I can definitively say "yep" even without the final chapter/epilogue stuff or whatever coming up. I have absolutely no complaints about that chapter. OTHER THAN CHIAKI DIDN'T DESERVE PUNISHMENT I DEMAND A RECOUNT

That line in there of me stopping for like five minutes wasn't even a joke. Things clicked right before the big reveal and I put my Vita down and contemplated my life decisions up to this point because boy did I not want things to wrap up the way they were wrapping up.

Also, I didn't mention this in my notes, but I am such a moron it is embarrassing. I had thought, the entire case, that the Monokuma panels tipped over in a line and somehow fell in such a way to click the lighter on. It wasn't until closing arguments that I was like "ok duh it just tipped over an already lit lighter". Which makes like 100x more sense and I have no idea why I had that original stupid thought in my head in the first place.

I have no clue what is going on now with the overarching plot other than "something weird and exciting". The entire game is glitching out DDLC style and all the dead people were back and no one said anything about them being dead. I'm super interested and want to keep playing like right now.

This final cast...is not what I was hoping for! That's fine, I get it, but I'm a bit sad about who I drug along to the finish line here, game. I want a recount.

How badly does Kazuichi stick out? What is he doing here? Fuyuhiko lost Peko and Sonia lost Gundham and Akane lost Nekomaru and Hajime lost Chiaki and...seriously, what is Kazuichi doing here? I feel like they messed up a bit here. It should've been Hiyoko, and not just because I liked her. This would have been a perfect final cast of "people who lost someone and are determine to see the end" if we had the Hiyoko-Mahiru connection. Or if Kazuichi had been given any sort of other connection other than "Sonia's stalker" the entire game. My theory is Hiyoko originally lived but they needed someone to fix the elevator in Chapter 4 to get the plot to work so Kazuichi got sloppily thrown back in instead.

I have no clue what the parallels in the earlier cases mean now. Was that just fun fanservice? A misdirect? I see no connection to 1-5 here at all. That was where they discovered Mukuro's body and there wasn't really a murder. I can't even think of a stretch here for a comparison. I guess...that was the one where Junko tried to set up Kyoko right? This was kinda a set up too, I guess, only Nagito was more competent in his execution. And I think 1-5 gets the helper character of Alter Ego killed right? And the helpers of Monomi and Chiaki get killed here? Is...is that parallel? I don't even know. Like I said, I don't know if the earlier parallels were for story reasons or just for fun to wink at fans of the first game at this point, so I'm really just spitballing here.

It is too late and I'm too tired no so I guess I'll have to wait to tomorrow to try and finish things off. SAD.

Post Chapter 5 Trial Power Rankings Of Actual Despair
16. Fatty Fatty Imposter Man, Eats Food From The Garbage Can

15. Teruteru

14. Mahiru

13. Peko

12. Ibuki

11. Hiyoko

10. Mikan

9. Nekomaru

8. Gundham

7. Nagito

6. Chiaki Of all the deaths in both games, I think this one hit the hardest. Poor Chiaki. She really did just want to protect her friends and she gets killed her on an absolute BS technicality. I loved that case and it was far and away the best this game largely because of how strong a character she was this game and in this trial particularly. RIP Chiaki. Of all the traitors that ever betrayed me, you were the least betrayful.

5. Hajime Were at the end game here so I dont think anyone else is going to die. If anyone does, it will be Hajime in a final grand sacrifice to save his friends. That likely wont happen because there isnt anyone left to plausibly take over as a temporary protagonist, but hes the only one who is in any sort of danger.

4. Kazuichi Kazuichi might die of a panic attack if anyone sneezes too loudly around him but beyond that hes fine. Hes sort of a weird character to reach end game because I dont think he has as clear of a role as anyone else left. He just sort of got here because the game didnt feel like killing him, I guess. Congrats Kazuichi.

3. Akane Next time when I do my power ranking for V3, I am going to look at the character art and whichever female has the largest chest, Im marking her down as safe. Akane doesnt even have a personality like HIna did, but the developers clearly liked her character art so she gets to make it to end game.

2. Fuyuhiko Baby gangster with a heart of gold. Well gold. He was pretty clearly going to survive after Peko sacrificed herself for him. I dont hate his character, but he also wasnt one of my favorites. There are like five other people I wish had this spot instead, but since he had the redemption arc going for him he had some pretty serious plot armor.

1. Sonia Hooray Sonia! Sonia has become one of my favorite characters this game because she still has that silly comic relief from her naivete, but she is also a character of substance as demonstrated by the end of this trial. She balances both well, so its nice she got to make it to the end. Shes the only character I really like left alive, so she gets some bonus points for being cool and also avoiding being killed off to forward the plot.

  • Also, Monomi, you jerk, maybe share that information with all of us about Nagitos insane plan with the fake bombs you knew about and there isnt even a murder this time. WHY MUST YOU RUIN EVERYTHING YOU STUPID RABBIT?
  • Oh boy. Poor Sonia. The bad news is she is not taking this well at all and just does not want Chiaki to be the killer. The good news is she is rapidly getting more points in the Supraks favorite DR2 power rankings.
  • I have to do a rebuttal showdown against her and the music stops entirely. That is a really, really cool touch.
  • Sonia: H-Hajimeare you going to believe Monokuma over Chiaki?! Psst Sonia, Chiaki was the one who told us it was her. Youre the one not believing Chiaki.
  • Hajime coming in strong with a counter. I believe inthe Chiaki whos been with us this whole time. That Chiaki is saying sh wants to protect us with her life! So the only thing we can do is believe her!
  • This case is so good it might have finally flipped my opinion of this game in comparison to the first one so good job trial number five.
  • Chiaki: Theres nothing to be sad about, you know. Cuzthis is different from what happened before. Unlike before, you guys dont have to stay alive by doubting someoneYou guys can stay alive by believing in me. CHIAAAAAAAAAKI. My emotions. MY EMOTIONS.
  • When it is time to vote and it does that screen where you scan around the students, everyone is sad or crying except for Chiaki who is smiling happily. Thats another really nice touch, game. Good job!
  • Sonia: E-even if you were a traitoryounever betrayed us. Hey guys did I mention this case is really good yet?
  • Chiaki still isnt giving up information about the Future Foundation. I guess we have to wait to the epilogue to find all this stuff out. Looks like Im not sleeping tonight!
  • Nagitos goal was apparently to reveal the traitor by having them be the only one to survive while the rest of us died. Not a fun goal, Nagito. Im beginning to think we wernet actually friends.
  • Monomi mentions what a kindhearted person Chiaki is, and Chiaki says she thinks she gets it from our dad and our big brother. You know, I hate to say this now of all times, but I think one of the two of you might be adopted.
  • Monomi kills Monokuma twice by blowing herself up in an attempt to protect us from him going forward. He only has endless clones left. Hey if youre going to be doing this for a while can I go and get a sandwich Im getting kind of hungry.
  • Apparently Monokuma can infuse his personality to the plushies we saw earlier so he can just keep pumping out clones. I know this is late for this, but I dont think this is very realistic, guys. Im not an expert on advanced killer bear robots but I dont think this is how it works.
  • Chiaki tells Monomi she can stop fighting. Its not about giving up, you know. Lets believe in them. Lets believe in everyoneand leave the rest to them. Hey guys did I mention this who end scene is like really good. Did I? I dont think I have enough.
  • NO NOT PUNISHMENT TIME IM NOT READY
  • Ok that execution was really cool. But that also sucked. Chiaki just waiting there at the end waiting for the last Tetris block to fall on her. NO CHIAKI PLEASE DONT DIE.
  • Monokuma says this is the end of the killing field trip. We can all leave now. You know, for some reason I doubt whatever you have planned is in our best interest.
  • Hajime seems to think it has something to do with the total number of people left based on how Monokuma said You Five in highlighted yellow text. The yellow text is always important, Hajime, good catch.
  • It is kind of weird there are two days left and Monokuma is just like yeah whatever man, you guys are free to go if you want.
  • Akane sees through Monokumas evil plot of FIVE students. Are you plannin to make a volleyball team!? And thus we conclude Dangonronpa 2: Way To Much Effort To Make A Volleyball Team.
  • Mini-Nekomaru pops in to remind her you need six people for a volleyball team. Thanks for that, man, but were kind of in the middle of something here.
  • Monokuma says we have to wait until the timer reaches zero to find out all the answers we need and to discover just how messed up their new world is. He also wants to end the new world theyre trying to make. Ugh guys I kind of need to know these answers now. Its already 1 AM here.
  • Hajime just tries to sleep through the last couple of days until the timer hits zero. Fair but hey game why not just end the timer immediately afterwards if all the extra story that came from this was Hajime slept some and then tried sleeping some more?
  • Something happens because Hajimes reality glitches out. Like stuff is de-rezzing and blocks of the screen are just sort of falling off. Oh and now Chiaki is outside. Hey guys Hajimes brain might need a reboot I think he downloaded a virus while sleeping.
  • WHAT IS GOING ON I NEED TO SLEEP.
  • Insane hallucination Chiaki tells me Nagito left a message for us on the laptop that only opened after 24 hours have passed and that everyone else is waiting at the restaurant. Well Im sure this wont be crazy so lets go check it out I suppose.
  • Oh Gundham is here too. And the screen is messing up again. Im getting Doki Doki Literature Club vibes here and I DONT LIKE IT.
  • And heres Fatty Fatty Stopped A Scheme, Whys He In My Fever Dream? Looks like the whole gangs here.
  • Nagito wants to tell us about the SUPER SECRET PAGE he found in the book that changed absolutely everything. But the game gltiches out to a bunch of random letters at this part. Guys the ending is like five minutes away can you stop teasing me please!
  • Ok so the game also isnt telling us what the terrible despair waiting for us is or who Monokuma wants to show this despair to. Game stop glitching at the important parts please.
  • Oh hey it doesnt glitch out when Nagito reads us the password to get to Nezumi castle. All I had to do was ask nicely. NICE.
  • Also the password is the upside down LEON clue from the first game. So the Future Foundation isSAYAKAS CORPSE I KNEW IT.
  • Apparently the castle is the only place that is safe from Monokuma. Well lets just go sleep there then.
  • I get immediately teleported to the ruin on the second island and it looks like the sky is bleeding. Uh. Guys? Anyone else see the bleeding sky? Anyone? No, just me? Ok cool. Let me just get an umbrella.
  • Seeing everyone here again is so weird. WHAT IS GOING ON.
  • Hahaha Fatty Fatty Just A Ghost, Puts A Snickers On His Toast is giving orders and Ibuki starts oinking at him because of Hiyoko: I told her that you only understand piggy-talk! Besides Chiaki and Gundham, I might miss you most of all you little psychopath you.
  • We put in the password for the door and it opens and and and
  • Itsa trial ground? This doesnt seem like a very cool place to be at all, Nagito. You know, Im starting to wonder if this guy was acting in our best interest after he tried to have us all killed.
  • The screen keeps falling apart. WHAT IS GOING ON GUYS
  • The timer hits zero and the grand reveal is.it says stage clear in this weird blocky lettering.
  • Oh hell no we cant be stopping here. DONT BE CRUEL. Give me something at least game, please.

  • Again, this is an interesting twist, but I have no idea how the evidence would be any different if someone intentionally threw it. Say Fuyuhiko and Nagito struck up some sort of deal. Fuyuhiko keeps the poison grenade on his person and just doesnt grab one when we go to the break room. He tosses the grenade when everyone else does. How can we rule that out? How would anything be different?
  • Our scenario is pretty bad though since now we have no clue who did it.
  • Oh Monokuma straight up admits that the murderer is whoever made Nagito breath in the poison. So that resolves that uncertainty I suppose.
  • Also this is BOLGNA. This is still a suicide. There isnt a court in the world that would convict whoever the guilty party is. Nagito is the one who made Nagito breath the poison. He set up a scenario where hed be forced to drink the poison and did everything other than throw the bottle (which the person thought was a bottle of something else). That isnt murder. MONOKUMA YOUR LAWS SUCK
  • OH THE DESPAIR. Everyone is despairing pretty hard now so good going Nagito, you got your wish I guess.
  • Sonia says that not even Monokuma should know who the killer is. He should, actually. It is Nagito. This is a suicide unless he insists on being a butt.
  • Monokuma counters by saying he just knows stuff, cameras or not. As proof, he tells us Sonia pooped once yesterday. Yeah that doesnt prove anything other that youre monitoring our bathroom usage too pervert. Im going to need some non-bowel movement related evidence.
  • Sonia: Please stop! I will never become Queen! Ah yes the only queen provision of thou shall not poop. Truly heavy is the stomach of those that wear the crown.
  • Chiaki says there is one way to figure this out, but we need to go over everything from the beginning. This seems like an excuse to force me to do the closing arguments minigame Chiaki instead of just having you come out and say it.
  • I really wish there was a scene where Nagito set this all up, laid down, pulled up his spear and then realized his measurement was off by like half a foot so it was dangling a little over to his left. Then he mutters oh son of a bitch before having to undo everything and reset everything back up to fix his measurement.
  • Chiaki: Did Nagitoreally not care who the killer was? Oh no. OH NO. OH NOOOOOOOOOO.
  • Oh no no no no no.
  • NO NO NO NO NO I REFUSE
  • FUCK THIS I REFUSE
  • GAME DONT DO THIS TO ME
  • YOU SON OF A BITCH GAME DONT YOU DO THIS TO ME
  • The killer is Chiaki through some straight up bullshit technicality. Nagito you stone cold bastard.
  • Oh Nagito FUCK YOU YOU MOTHERFUCKER
  • Holy shit how fucking brilliant and shitty at the same time.
  • Have I said fuck you yet?
  • Nagito wanted the traitor to kill him and used his stupid luck power he has to luck into the traitor being the one to throw the poison. I forgot that Nagito is basically Longshot and just lucks into whatever desire he wants.
  • Ive had the game paused for like five minutes now just because Im mad at it. This isnt fair. CHIAKI DIDNT DO IT GAME. THIS ISNT A MURDER. Can I call a real lawyer? I feel like theyd be able to get her off in minutes.
  • Ok so Nagito has ultimate luck right? Heres what he does. Get a piece of paper. Write the traitor is at the top and then assign the six survivors a number. Get a dice. Roll the dice. His ultimate luck power will make it roll to the right number. There. It took me all of ten seconds to figure this out and I wouldnt have gotten myself AND Chiaki murdered because of it.
  • Chiaki is the ultimate traitor bro and spends like five minutes convincing all of us his target was the traitor so with his luck it shouldve been the traitor that picked up the grenade.
  • Now Chiaki says the traitor COULDNT reveal themselves during the bomb scare, or even now, because they werent created to do that. PSST HEY GUYS I THINK CHIAKI MIGHT BE THE TRAITOR.
  • Monomi is far less of a bro and basically says, CHIAKI YOU SHUT YOUR BEAUTIFUL MOUTH. This is why everyone hates you Monomi.
  • Chiaki basically goads Hajime into picking her as the traitor, and when you do she fesses up immediately. I have so many questions but for now Im going to keep reading because I need to know more.
  • Shes also not a very good traitor because she basically was the one that was most responsible for figuring out this case, and then the only one pushing the murderer mustve been the traitor narrative.
  • In the end, she betrayed herself. Ultimate betrayer, imho.
  • Chiaki and Monomi are both mum on what exactly the Future Foundation is other than its not what we think. Chiaki also isnt clear exactly as to why she could tell us now but now before. Dont these two know this is the last trial?! Now is the time for spoilers, people.
  • There is a dramatic scene where Chiaki begs with Hajiime to reveal her as the traitor and Hajime begs with her to not make him do that because its the same as killing her. THE EMOTIONS. THE EMOTIOOOOOONS.
  • Monomi then starts flipping out and whining that she doesnt even know Chiaki and Chiaki isnt the traitor and she hates Chiaki and also who is Chiaki again I dont think there is a Chiaki here pssst hey run Chiaki. Im forced to do a Panic Talk Action because the game hates me. I cant figure out how to reload anymore, so I go into frenzy and it once again beats the entire thing for me. Fun.
  • Hey Monomi you idiot you realize if we pick the wrong person we all die right?
  • This is also stupidly easy to disprove considering we have your stupid notebook you big stupid dumb dumb. Monomi why are you so committed to being the worst?
  • It is also super embarrassing to Chiaki for this notebook to be revealed to be hers. Not because it confirms shes the traitor but because it confirms she writes at a fifth grade level. She even betrayed the education system, apparently.
  • Sonia doesnt take this well as she starts crying and asking if all the time they spent together was a fake. I hope youre happy now TRAITOR you made Sonia cry.
  • Chiaki is caught because Sonias account about how Monomi was creeping on her and thus knew the bomb was a fake too. See Monomi you really do ruin everything.

  • Chiaki: How about we stick to The Plan to Think One Step at a Time Instead of Expecting the Answers All at Once. Ok, fine. First step of plan The Plan to Think One Step at a Time Instead of Expecting the Answers All at Once is to come up with a new name for the plan.
  • Second step of the plan is to explain the mechanics of how he was able to kill himself with the spear. MASSIVE SUCCESS.
  • Kazuichi: Th-Thats beyond crazy! Why would he do that to himself?! Hi yes have you met Nagito. He is beyond crazy. Hopefully that answers your question.
  • Hajime posits that his goal was to get everyone executed by making a suicide look like a murder. Sure, cool, but Hajime we still have half the case left so I know it is more complicated than that.
  • Sonia: If he had no qualms with killing everyone, he did not have to cause a bomb scare to reveal the traitor. Hm yeah good point Sonia. I kind of doubt Sonia is the SECERT SURPRISE KILLER now because we were all ready to vote suicide so she doesnt have much of an incentive to speak up here if shes trying to get away with stabby murder funtime.
  • HMMMM. Fuyuhiko immediately tries to explain it away. You know, he was on the island when Nagito was likely there setting things up. Maybe Nagito gave him the grenade full of poison after making it since they were on the same island. *puts Fuyuhiko back on suspect list*
  • Fuyuhiko: Hes a fucking bastard who killed himself for his delusions of grandeur! Its not that unthinkable! *underlines Fuyuhikos name on the suspect list*
  • Everyone sort of reluctantly agrees that we can vote on the killer, but at the very last second Hajime does his best Phoneix Wright OBJECTION impression to stop him. Aw yeah go my Hajime.
  • Fuyuhiko: H-hold on? Why? *circles Fuyuhikos name on the suspect list*
  • Chiaki now also comes out in favor of holding on to the vote until we solve all the mysteries in the case. That just leavesFuyuhiko that seems to want to take the vote. *draws large arrows pointing to Fuyuhikos name on the suspect list*
  • Chiaki and Hajime wont let the case conclude until they solve one remaining mystery.CAUSE OF DEATH.
  • Thats right! Think wed forget Monokuma? Well WE WONT. Finish your shoddy mortician report, you garbage bear.
  • Chiaki insists on going forward just to be safe. Fuyuhiko: Just to be safe, huh? Tch, guess I have no choiceIf thats the case, Ill do my best to go along with it. *highlights Fuyuhikos name and covers it in glitter on the suspect list*
  • Also this hangmans gambit was the worst in the entire game. There were letters flying from all over the place and it was impossible to clear them all before getting hit. This is still the least fun mechanic in the game and I hope Im done with it now.
  • Monokuma theater time. Hope thats the last one of these too. Hooray all the bad stuff is wrapping up!
  • Monokuma: Thats even sadder than watching a high school romcom full of guys! Holy shit Monokuma, youre a evil mastermind and a homophobe? MONOKUMA IS CANCELLED #Monokumaisoverparty #Notmymonokuma #blessed
  • We go over all the other possible causes of death and happen to bring up the giant inconspicuous bottle labeled LITERAL POISON TO KILL SOMEONE WITH. Yeah I wonder if that might be it guys.
  • Also, hey Nagito, evil mastermind, maybe you shouldve tossed the bottle of poison after you used it you dingus.
  • Fuyuhiko doesnt seem to be buying the whole poison theory. Fuyuhiko: However, its common for blood blotches to appear on a body thats been poisoned You sure seem to know a lot about how this poison would work, friend-o. *writes Fuyuhikos name a second time on the suspect list, crosses out all other names and talks to the engraver who made the password carving to make a FUYUHIKO DEFINITELY DID IT carving*
  • Fuyuhiko: Hell no! No matter how you slice it, he was totally killed by that spear! Alright Fuyuhiko Im still waiting to get my Fuyuhiko is guilty carving back but once I do Im going to add to it because this is just getting crazy now.
  • Were finally getting to the good stuff. We have agreed on the poison and gotten everyone to agree that he likely breathed it through his nose.
  • I am going through the evidence and I dont think I have anything that points at Fuyuhiko as the killer. Or anyone else, for that matter. I feel like Im still missing something small but I dont know what it could be.
  • HAHA so now everyone agrees that he was likely poisoned. HOORAY. But they all still think it was suicide so who cares. Less hooray. Come on guys that isnt TWISTY enough for the last case.
  • Fuyuhiko: All right! All the mysteries should be solved now! We should get on with the voting time, right?! Ok Im just going to stop writing these all down now because at this point either Fuyuhiko did it or the game is intentionally trying to frame him.
  • Chiaki: There mightve beenan accomplice. First off, excellent use of a dramatic pause. I basically could hear the DUN DUN DUN. Secondly, this is why Chiaki is my bestie this game.
  • Chiaki mentions how weird it is they didnt find any sort of container for the poison at the scene, which is why she thinks there mightve been an accomplice. Akane is shocked that Nagito had to put the poison in some sort of container. She is used to the old-fashioned type of liquid poison where youd just slip it in your pocket and grab a handful when you need to use it.
  • Kazuichi: Isnt it okay to close this case yet? Im not in the mood for unexpected twists! Oh Kazuichi. Youre in the wrong game.
  • AUGH NOT ANOTHER HANGMANS GAMBIT I CHOOSE DEATH GAME I CHOOOOOOOSE DEEEEEEEATH
  • Fire Inspector Sonia comes through huge by offhandedly mentioning that she noticed the fire grenades had a small aluminum seal on the top. See this is why it always pays off to be friends with someone that is an expert in fire safety.
  • The game turns into an episode of Dora the Explorer for a second. We need to solve How does Sonia mentioning an aluminum seal on the fire grenade prove Nagito tampered with the fire grenade with aluminum seal found under Nagitos bed. This one feels almost like cheating guys.
  • The rest of the gang still doesnt seem to understand the importance of the fact that the fire grenade contained the poison AND the poison acted instantaneously and oh hey the five of us happened to go get fire grenades and toss them right where he was immediately at his time of death.
  • I like how this case is going so far, but honestly without a cause of death in the report there is no way for us to differentiate between Nagito was poisoned and used the spear to hide this fact and Nagito was speared to death and is using the poison to confuse us.
  • Like, say for example Nagito took a fire grenade, removed the seal, didnt mix up anything, and put it right back. Then he planted the seal under his bed and used the mask and gloves to dump some of the poison somewhere meaningless. How would the evidence look any different than it is now?
  • Chiaki breaks it down for them and everyone is SHOOK. Thats right folks, murder is back on the menu.
  • Uh oh. Oh no. OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  • I think I was wrong. The person didnt throw the fire grenade intentionally. Nagito mixed the poison grenade up with the others and someone grabbed it randomly.

Chapter 5 Trial A.K.A. Chiaki Absolutely Breaks My Heart
  • I say this every time, but seriously Monokuma we dont need the rules here man this is our fifth time.
  • Monomi straight up staring daggers at Monokuma. The first four murders were fine but this time its gone TOO FAR.
  • Seriously it seems weird now that she is incredibly angry considering NINE OTHER STUDENTS DIED BEFORE AND YOU DID NOTHING BUT GO YOU STUPID BROTHER AND MAKE SILLY NOISES.
  • Fuyuhiko: If he was killed for trying to reveal the traitorThat traitor is obviously the killer! They were trying to shut Nagito up! Which would make sense Nagito except literally everyone else also had a motive of please dont blow us up I like how many pieces Im currently in so your logic sucks.
  • Hm ok so for the first debate Hajime ends up arguing that it likely wasnt torture because Nagitos mouth was covered up. Covered mouth means he cant talk, and not being able to talk means he cant say where the bombs were. Doh why didnt I think of that. That narrows things down a bit, at least.
  • So if they didnt want to find out where the bombs werethen why kill Nagito? Was it the traitor then? But Chiakis likely the traitor and I really dont think it was her. Sooooo.back to suicide?
  • Oh dang a rebuttal showdown already? Kazuichi breaking the all-time rebuttal showdown speed record.
  • Ah and the lack of blood under the tape proves he had the tape on his mouth the entire time. Hajime just flexed on Kazuichis weak argument and bodyslammed it through a table.
  • Akane: Who cares about the duct tape? We might as well settle this with rock paper scissors. Akane might really be the killer because that is oddly dumb, even by her low standards. Seems almost TOO nonchalant. IM ON TO YOU AKANE
  • Sonia: However, if they wanted to seal his mouth, they did not need to hurt him with such ferocity Oh dang Sonia thats a good point too. Ok, so why torture Nagito but leave him unable to say anything? Suicide is looking increasingly likely.
  • OR this feeds into my Nagito let someone kill him theory. So hed do all the dirty work and then the killer would land the final blowsomehow. Trust me it makes sense.
  • Like I thought, opening the door knocked over the Monokuma cutouts, which landed perfectly on the lighter somehow. Nagito clearly using his ultimate luck skill here combined with his ultimate perfect dominoes champion skill.
  • Akane was the one who forced the door open to cause the fire. HMMMMMM.
  • Oh but Akane and her super ears were the one that was like WHATS THAT STRANGE SOUND when we opened the door and heard the panels over the weird hymn. She might not bring attention to that if she was the killer. Downgrade that HMMMM to a hmmmmm.
  • I dont know the physics here exactly, but I feel like the door wouldnt be blocked by a Monokuma panel. Unless this thing was made of granite, the door would just sort of shove it aside because it was flimsy thin paneling.
  • Hm. So Chiaki points out that the panel was so close to the door that the killer shouldnt be able to leave. It was the ONLY way to get in or out she says. Couldnt the killer do all the panels but one, leave the last panel slightly inside the door, go outside, and then just stick their arm in to sort of push it into place? HMM? WHAT ABOUT THAT GAME? Maybe I should be the killer next time.
  • Akane: Does that mean they were hidin inside? Akane, all of us were together OUTSIDE. Together. As a group. At once. Outside. Someone mute her mic this will be easier.
  • The person who set this up wasNAGITO. GASP GASP GASP. I KNEW IT...I think.
  • Waitseriously though if he didnt have help how did he get the knife through his hand and his arm tied and hold the spear without someone handing it to him and and and...?
  • Also this is way too early in the case for the twist to be revealed. Nice try game. Youre not tricking me.
  • Chiaki: He was the victim, and he was the perpetrator toomaybe. Loving the confidence there Chiaki.
  • NICE now we get to the point where we figure out how Nagito tied himself up. Thats where Im stuck so please help me, game.
  • Akanes theory is that Nagito tied up his arms using either his teeth or his penis which surprisingly isnt the dumbest theory shes had so far this case.
  • OHHHHH the one rope was actually burned beforehand. Duh. Ok that makes a bit of sense.
  • You know something just clicked for me and I hope Im wrong because otherwise something TRAGIC has happened here and I call shenanagins.
  • Akane: Hajime, thats awesome! Ill letcha cop a feel if you want! Man dont you love it how girls get all horned up when you go through fire based forensic evidence?
  • Sonia: Akane! You should not give it away for free! Make sure they pay you first! Ah so we finally find out that Sonia is from the country of Stankonia, the Pimpistan region.
  • Akane: FineI just gotta get a Benjamin from him before I let him touch me, right? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING CAN WE GET BACK TO THE LITERAL MURDER
  • Back to the case, the plushie was the missing bit of evidence I couldnt figure out. Nagito propped the knife up using the plushie (explaining the huge hole) and then just slammed his hand down on that. Even Nagitos suicide was insane and complicated.
  • Ok so I think, if I figured this all out now and I rescind my previous something tragic happened. Nagito filled one of those bottles with poison and when we threw them he was actually poisoned to death. Which would make the killerSonia. She was the one who knew where the bottles were, couldve collaborated with Nagito beforehand so he did all this complicated stuff, and then made sure she grabbed the poison bottle. Or had the poison bottle hidden away somewhere separatelike the military baseso she could just go and grab it right before hand. Sonia is the killer. Book it. THATS A SUPRAK STONE COLD LOCK
  • Fuyuhiko still isnt happy because he shouldnt have been able to impale himself with the spear. Psh thats the easy part, I figured that out weeks ago.
  • This does guarantee Fuyuhiko isnt the killer. I doubt the real killer could be like you guys all think Nagito committed suicide well here is why youre WRONG oh shoot oh wait I think I messed up.
  • Sonia, on why the spear had to be the last thing: If you got penetrated by something so big and thick, you would die instantly! That sound you heard was Kazuichi orgasming. You know, ever since Mikan died, Sonia has jumped into the role of not realizing what shes saying is super dirty very nicely.
  • She has to be doing this on purpose, right? She might be trying to kill Kazuichi via blue balls.
  • Kazuichi also doesnt think this is a suicide. Put him on the definitely not the killer pile. Interestingly it is Chiaki and Sonia that seem the most convinced it had to be a suicide. HMMMMMM.
  • I do not like how Akane keeps calling a penis a front tail. It is not a cute character trait and this is like the third time now.
  • Fourth time now. One of the writers thought this front tail bit was hilarious and they were wrong.
